SPC Outlook
Mileage: 1100 Tornadoes: 4 Hail: Nickel sized Chasers: Verne Carlson, Jon Merage, Tony Laubach, Tom DuLong and Kyle Kluge Started the day in Hays, KS headed south down to Dodge City and watched everything get sheared apart near the low. Headed north, saw Roger Hill, ran into Mike Umsheid and his friend Fritz. Kept heading north and caught up to a cell along the line in Trego county where we met up with Twister Sister Melanie Metz and Doug Kiesling along HW 147. Headed north as a waterspout touched down in Cedar Bluff reservoir. Tumble weeds blew by as the Tornado passed right in front of us! Followed on and saw 3 more tornadoes including tornado #4 which was the prettiest "drill bit" tornado I've ever seen! We followed the meso north of I-70 but it passed over a boundary and seemed to slow. We missed the dusty tube tornado to the north. Tony caught the Tornado by Russell on the next cell to the south.
