Mileage: 1350 miles Got into Pratt, KS around 3am monday night after Tony's alternator went out just 1 mile from our hotel! Luckily it can be fixed and we got on our way around 1pm. Headed north towards Great Bend then on advice from nowcaster Amos Magliocco we headed back to the south-east of Wichita to catch a developing cell east of Mulvane, KS. East of Mulvane we punched through the line and got on the east side just as a tornado warning went up to the north of us. We headed north on HW99 and got blasted by pea to marble size hail and a lightning bolt that hit so close it made our arms tingle! The line seemed to be splitting so we headed for the tail-end charlie but the line was just dying out. On the way home we ran into a cell along the dryline that dumped some hail on us as we sought refuge under an awning. Tony's video was on TWC the next day.
